The role that science and technology have played in improving the life conditions across the globe is vivid. Yet our country ignores, underfunds science and research projects. There has been a continuous decline in India’s scientific standing in the last three decades relative to other developing countries. This relative decline in the country’s scientific output can partly be attributed to the very low public and private investment in science and technology.
